ANZAC Day ceremony

The following is a rough outline of the school ceremony to take place on April 24th, 3pm

  • Introduction by Clare - purpose of assembly and brief history of Australia up to April 25th, 1915 (PowerPoint)
  • Singing of 'I am Australian' - YouTube clip (replaces hymn)
  • Reading of Poems - JSC (In Flanders Fields, For the Fallen, Kemal Ataturk poem)
  • Address - Link Findon values to efforts of ANZAC soldiers (Mrs Cosgrave)
  • Wreath Laying - Class reps to walk up class wreaths
  • Explanation of ANZAC Day symbols - Rachel and Jaslyn on PowerPoint
  • Reading of the Ode and introduction of Last Post and minute of silence - JSC
  • The Last Post is played on screen (Youtube clip)
  • Minute of silence
  • Singing of the National Anthem
  • Close of Assembly - 3.25pm
